Environment & Climate Action

Prayas Foundation promotes environmental sustainability and climate resilience in tribal and rural communities that are highly dependent on natural resources for their livelihoods. The program focuses on strengthening community awareness, encouraging eco-friendly practices, and supporting local action to mitigate the impacts of climate change while preserving ecological balance for future generations.

Key Activities

Tree Plantation Drives

The Foundation conducts community-led tree plantation campaigns in degraded lands, school premises, village commons, and water catchment areas. Native and climate-resilient species are promoted to enhance biodiversity, improve soil health, and increase green cover. Community participation ensures ownership and long-term maintenance.

Climate Awareness Programs

Prayas Foundation organizes climate awareness and education programs to build understanding of climate change, its local impacts, and adaptation strategies. Sessions focus on sustainable agriculture practices, resource conservation, disaster preparedness, and responsible consumption, empowering communities to adopt environmentally responsible behaviors.

Water Conservation Initiatives

To address water scarcity, the Foundation supports water conservation and management initiatives, including awareness on rainwater harvesting, protection of local water bodies, efficient water use, and community-led conservation practices. These efforts aim to enhance water security and resilience against climate variability.
