PRAYAS FOUNDATION FOR SOCIAL RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT
Prayas Foundation works to improve community health, nutrition, and sanitation outcomes among marginalized and vulnerable populations, particularly in rural and tribal areas. The program emphasizes preventive healthcare, behavior change communication, and access to basic health services, with a special focus on women, children, and elderly community members. Through awareness-driven and service-oriented interventions, the Foundation aims to reduce health disparities and strengthen overall community well-being.
Health Awareness Camps
The Foundation organizes regular health awareness and screening camps in collaboration with local health institutions and medical professionals. These camps focus on maternal and child health, general health check-ups, anemia screening, immunization awareness, non-communicable diseases, and referral services. Community members are educated on early identification of health issues and the importance of timely medical care.
Prayas Foundation conducts nutrition education sessions for pregnant women, lactating mothers, and caregivers of young children. The sessions emphasize balanced diets, locally available nutritious foods, infant and young child feeding practices, and prevention of malnutrition and anemia. Mothers are also informed about government nutrition programs and entitlements to enhance access to supplementary nutrition services.
To prevent water- and sanitation-related diseases, the Foundation promotes safe sanitation and hygiene practices through community campaigns, school-based sessions, and household-level interactions. Activities include awareness on handwashing, menstrual hygiene management, safe drinking water practices, solid waste management, and usage of household toilets, supporting broader public health outcomes.
